BIOGRAPHY
Frank Fetrow was born in the United States in 1999. Before pursuing art, he spent several years in the world of boxing and fitness, where he developed a deep appreciation for anatomy and the expressive potential of the human form. This became the foundation for his artistic vision.
Drawn to the timeless beauty of classical realism, Frank began formal training at the Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy, where he continues to refine his craft. His studies emphasize the pursuit of technical excellence passed down through the great traditions of the Renaissance and nineteenth-century ateliers.
Frank seeks to capture not only the appearance of his subjects but their essence. His work combines a disciplined methodology with an intuitive sensitivity, producing drawings that are precise and emotive.
Frank’s recent works, including Giacomo (2024), have been featured by Nitram Charcoal and praised for their tonal subtlety and expressive mark making. His art continues to evolve towards a personal voice; one that honors classical principles while exploring the contemporary human experience.
Frank Fetrow currently lives and works between Florence, Italy and the United States.
