BIOGRAPHY
Frank Fetrow was born in the United States in 1999. Before pursuing art, he spent several years in the world of boxing and fitness, where he developed a deep appreciation for anatomy, rhythm, and the expressive potential of the human form. This early understanding of structure and movement became the foundation for his artistic vision.
Drawn to the timeless beauty and discipline of classical realism, Frank began formal training at the Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy, where he continues to refine his craft. His studies emphasize the rigorous observation of nature and the pursuit of technical excellence passed down through the great traditions of the Renaissance and nineteenth-century ateliers.
Frank seeks to capture not only the appearance of his subjects but their essence — the quiet dignity, strength, and vulnerability that define the human spirit. His work combines a disciplined methodology with an intuitive sensitivity, producing drawings that are both precise and profoundly emotive.
Frank’s recent works, including Giacomo (2024), have been featured by Nitram Charcoal and praised for their tonal subtlety and anatomical mastery. His art continues to evolve toward a personal voice—one that honors classical principles while exploring the contemporary human experience.
Frank Fetrow currently lives and works between Florence and the United States.
